I re-read "The Purpose Driven Life" again.

I love the book, one thing that stood out for me was that life on Earth is a temporary one. The book says that many people are after worldly possessions like fame, success, materialistic goods, status, positions, money, love and mistakenly taken into the whole "I need this, I want that, Wouldn't life be so much better if I have this?" and forgetting that these worldly possessions are controlling them and leading them furthur from God.

It kinda appeal to me how this is me. This, trying to take hold of everything. I always feel discontent with my life and everytime I look at other people's life, I feel that God has treated me unfairly. Other people lead perfect lives, they have everything they possibly need. Popularity, money, perfect family, boyfriends to spoil them, success in every area, outstanding achievement, perfect body... list goes on.

The book tells me that we don't need worldly possessions to be happy. It's what you do with that life that God has given u that matters, that is leading a Godly life. Characters in the Bible don't lead a perfect life, most of them were tortured and some died but at the end of the day, these Bible figures have shown true Godly manners.

And at the end of the day, this life is just going to be a temporary one. What really matters is eternal life with God. And I know from now on, I will live as in I'm living everyday of God. I will do everything as in I'm doing it for God. No more will I complain about not having this or not having that. God has given me everything I need, even more given me the greatest gift of all, His son for my sins.

Also, I find that less focusing on these worldly possessions does make me a better person. I go to sleep feeling great and wake up looking forward to the day ahead.
